A Legacy Forged in Precision

Beyond the mere measurement of seconds

Founded in 1912 within the historic boundaries of London, Kensington & Co. was established upon a singular, unyielding principle: to create timepieces that are structurally flawless and aesthetically timeless. In an era dominated by mass production, we remain staunchly committed to the artisanal traditions of fine British watchmaking.

Every watch that departs our atelier is the culmination of hundreds of hours of meticulous labour. We do not manufacture; we create. Our master craftsmen assemble, test, and finish each caliber by hand, ensuring an unparalleled level of exactitude. When you acquire a Kensington & Co. timepiece, you are not simply purchasing a watch—you are acting as the custodian for a masterpiece of micro-engineering.

Discover Our Method

The Art of the Movement

An exploration into the soul of our timepieces, where century-old techniques meet state-of-the-art innovation.

The beating heart of every Kensington & Co. watch is its proprietary mechanical movement. Designed entirely in-house, our calibers represent the pinnacle of horological architecture. We utilize an intricate arrangement of over three hundred individual components, including a free-sprung balance wheel and a silicon escapement. This combination dramatically reduces friction and negates the disruptive effects of magnetic fields, resulting in exceptional chronometric performance that far exceeds standard certification requirements.

Decoration is approached with the same fervour as engineering. The bridges and plates are adorned with traditional Côtes de Genève stripes, executed by craftsmen who have dedicated their lives to the art of anglage and perlage. Each screw is painstakingly polished to a mirror finish, its slot precisely chamfered. This level of internal finishing serves no functional purpose; it exists entirely as a testament to our philosophy of uncompromising luxury, visible only through the exhibition sapphire case back to the discerning owner.

Our cases require just as much attention. Stamped from a solid block of medical-grade 904L stainless steel or ethically sourced 18-carat gold, they undergo a rigorous fifty-step polishing process. The result is a seamless interplay between brushed and polished surfaces that catches the light with a distinguished brilliance. We integrate anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystals, ensuring absolute legibility under the harshest glare while protecting the delicate hand-painted enamel dials beneath.

Ultimately, to wear one of our watches is to wear history on your wrist. It is a harmonious blend of the arts and sciences, a silent companion that bears witness to your personal milestones. We subject each completed piece to a grueling 500-hour testing protocol, simulating years of wear in a matter of weeks, ensuring that when it finally rests against your skin, it is nothing short of perfection.

Uncompromising Sourcing

We believe that a masterpiece can only be constructed from the finest earthly elements.

904L Submarine Steel

Unlike standard watchmakers, we forge our steel cases using a highly complex 904L alloy. It provides extraordinary resistance to corrosion and allows for a brilliant, enduring polish that 316L steel simply cannot achieve.

Fairmined Gold

We are deeply committed to ethical luxury. Every ounce of gold and platinum utilized in our cases and rotors is exclusively sourced from certified Fairmined cooperatives, ensuring environmental protection and fair wages.

Corundum Sapphire

Our watch crystals are synthesized from pure corundum, rendering them virtually impervious to scratches. They undergo a proprietary, multi-layer anti-reflective treatment on both hemispheres to eliminate distortion.

The Bespoke Experience

For those who desire a timepiece as unique as their own signature, we offer the Kensington Bespoke Service. Working directly with our lead horologists in London, clients are invited to commission one-of-a-kind watches.

From custom dial enameling and specialized gem-setting to personalized movement engravings, the possibilities are limited solely by your imagination. The journey from initial sketch to final delivery is an intimate collaboration, typically spanning eight to twelve months.
